
Eleanor is fifteen and the new girl in town. Her home life is miserable and there is little money for things beyond the necessities. At school, she is teased for being overweight and for her unconventional and flashy style.. Although Park, who is one-half Korean, has lived his entire life in one place, he feels like an outsider. By chance, they sit next to one another on the school bus and slowly discover they both like comics and 1980s alternative music. Gradually, they be-come friends. But, Park’s parents do not fully approve of Eleanor. Will Eleanor and Park’s friendship survive despite her unhappy home life and his parents’ disapproval?
