Out of Darkness by Ashley Hope Pérez

Naomi, who is Mexican-American, moves to a small town in East Texas with her stepsiblings and father who works in the oil fields.  While adjusting to a new town she meets Wash, who is African-American, as they struggle with race, segregation, love, and the forces that destroy people.
